Thermal Detection

Optimise your supply chain, enhance surveillance, improve safety

Measure, monitor and manage the temperature of your environments in real time for faster emergency response and more cost effective and greener temperature control. Improve your surveillance system with thermal imaging for better security and peace of mind.

What are Thermal Sensors?

Thermal sensors detect the heat emitted by people or objects in the Longwave Infrared (LWIR) wavelength and determine the temperature changes in an environment. In certain applications, they outperform pyroelectric and thermopile sensors as they are more precise, less error prone can be programmed to offer a wider set of data than mere motion, and they cover a bigger surface area. Similarly thermal imaging cameras can improve product quality and streamline your supply chain processes for greater efficiency and cost savings.

Orion Data Network

Smarter Technologies Group’s Orion Data Nework Thermal Sensors solutions have a range of -40 – 400 degrees. They enable you to measure, monitor and manage the temperature of your chosen environment in real time allowing faster response times in an emergency. Over time you can determine processes and behaviours that need streamlining in order to keep your environment at a consistent temperature, saving energy and ensuring your assets’ lifecycle is optimised. They are both wireless and battery powered with up to 3 years of battery life before you need to replace it with a new one. They can be installed in seconds and attached to almost any type of surface. They don’t require any mains or other external power source.

Orion Thermal Sensor and Camera Applications

Asset & Supply Chain Optimisation

By ensuring that all your electronic, lubricative and heat exchange equipment is working properly, thermal imaging maximised your asset life, improves worker safety, enables predictive maintenance, increases customer satisfaction, boosts product quality and positively impacts your bottom line.

Walk-in Freezers

If you are in the Food & Beverage, Hospitality or other industry that requires large amounts of perishable food and drinks to be stored at precise temperatures then thermal imaging cameras are an excellent solution for insuring that your insulation is working efficiently. Preventing heat leaks into the freezer or refrigeration unit in this way helps you to keep control of your energy usage.

Aerospace

Thermal sensors and cameras have wide safety applications in aerospace for example to determine the thermal behaviour of aeroplane and helicopter engines to prevent engine failure. They can also be used to determine the quality levels of components during the construction process.

Automotive Industry

In the automotive industry thermography can be used to detect defects in catalysts, heated seating body panels and electric systems, reducing the need for costly crash tests.

Thermography for Surveillance

Infrared thermal imaging cameras can be used for observation and remote surveillance as a border defence to protect your site infrastructure, assets and personnel.
